Why Have a Good Intro and Conclusion?

Today in workshop 3 we looked at why it's important to have an effective introduction and a conclusion when writing a report. We decided that they help us to;

- hook the reader,
- give them something to take away,
- holds the paragraphs of ideas together.

We used the simile of a bookshelf and book ends. The introduction and conclusion hold the paragraphs up and stop them falling over. Here are some quick drawings that Olivia (and that's her fast five editing practice we did and she got everything correct) and Delta drew to help them remember.
